Global technology leader Emerson has partnered with CoreTigo to create sustainable solutions for their customers using wireless industrial automation technologies. This collaboration aims to address the challenges of Compressed Air Management in machinery, with the goal of reducing energy waste and CO2 emissions while improving maintenance efficiency and operational processes.

The solution enhances Emerson's AVENTICS high-end air flow and pressure regulation units by integrating CoreTigo's IO-Link Wireless products. Known as the "Energy Saver," this solution offers a comprehensive approach to enhance production lines with an advanced air treatment application in a cost-efficient and straightforward manner.

The Aventics AF2 Air Flow Sensor and EV12 Pressure Regulator are connected to CoreTigo's IO-Link Wireless Bridge (TigoBridge), which converts them into wireless devices with industrial-grade communication capabilities. The TigoBridges transmit wirelessly to CoreTigo's IO-Link wireless gateway, while the Energy Saver continuously streams airflow data from the floor to the cloud for analysis and monitoring. Additionally, the solution enables independent control of the pressure regulation unit, eliminating the need for machine downtime or PLC programming. This control ensures that the machine remains stable and secure during periods of inactivity while minimizing air wastage by reducing pressure.

The Energy Saver solution offers several benefits. It reduces CO2 emissions by minimizing air leakages and optimizing machine idle mode operation, thereby promoting environmentally friendly manufacturing and regulatory compliance. By preventing prolonged non-optimal air flow, it minimizes unplanned downtime and maintenance requirements. The wireless setup reduces cable wear and tear and simplifies deployment without requiring modifications to the PLC setup or complex cabling layouts. Moreover, it contributes to cost savings by reducing energy expenses, maintenance costs, and deployment expenses.

The Energy Saver solution was developed in collaboration with a major food and beverage manufacturer and is poised to revolutionize various industries in the near future. Emerson will showcase this innovation and other industrial solutions at Hannover Messe 2024, from April 22 to April 26, 2024, in Hall 11, Stand C20.
